About Me

After a 30-year career as a Pediatric and Neonatal Nurse, I found myself drawn to explore the world of art. Painting has since become my happy place—a creative space where I can escape the complexities of everyday life and dive into something joyful and freeing.

I’ve been fortunate to learn from some incredible artists, including Alberta mentors Micheal Downes and Nancy-Lynne Hughes, along with guidance from fellow Pender Island artists Wendy Munroe, Carol Davidson, and Dorset Norwich-Young. My journey has been fueled by curiosity, and I’ve taken various courses to sharpen my skills, studying everything from basic drawing and color theory to cold wax and oil painting. I’m constantly learning, and I love every minute of it!

When I’m not painting I enjoy spending time with my husband and family including 7 grandchildren. I love being active and enjoy hiking, yoga, biking, Zumba and weight training. Other hobbies include travel and reading.

My Inspiration

Nature is my biggest muse. Whether it’s the vast prairies, towering mountains, or the peaceful Gulf Islands, I’m endlessly inspired by the land and sea around me. I paint what speaks to me—those special moments of beauty that make you stop and appreciate the world. I work mostly with acrylics but also love experimenting with mixed media, alcohol ink, and cold wax and oil.

What excites me most is the process itself. From the first spark of inspiration to mixing up colors on my palette, painting allows me to play with shapes, color, and value. It’s like a conversation with the canvas, and near the end, I let the painting guide me to its final form.

“Painting is my happy place. A way to escape, explore, and share the beauty of nature with others.”

Whether you’re here to explore my art, share in the joy of nature’s beauty, or just say hello, I’m thrilled to have you on this creative journey with me. Feel free to reach out—I’d love to connect!
